Palestinian Students visit Leeds Grand Mosque
A
Palestinian group of 2 teachers and 4 students from Palestine Polytechnic
University in Hebron (Al-Khaleel) visited Leeds Grand Mosque on Monday 14th
Nov. the visit came as part of a student exchange group with Leeds University.
The group highlighted to our community the right of
Palestinians to education and the daily obstacles they face under the occupation
to prevent them from gaining education. Also the group showed few video clips in
which the Palestinians in Hebron were attacked and harassed by the Jewish
settlers in Hebron while Israeli officers stood watching.
The group attended many events and meetings as part of
together for peace activities. A Palestinian exhibition of items of clothes and
artefacts that the Palestinian women made with broidery to sell and support
themselves was organised in the university of Leeds which was followed by a
presentation from the teachers and a story told by each one of the students to
show the difficulty they face in the way of their education and the struggle
they go through to continue and persevere.
